Template notice. This document is a general template provided for convenience and is not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by your own legal counsel and complete any bracketed fields before relying on it.
This Privacy Policy explains how Palms Media LLC ("Palms Media", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the Contact Trail Pro plugin (the "Plugin") and the website at contact-trail.com (the "Site").

1. Who we are

Contact Trail Pro is a marketing-attribution plugin for Contact Form 7, published by Palms Media LLC. For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information collected by the Site

  • Account & billing: when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your name, email, and payment details. We do not store full card numbers; payments are handled by Stripe.
  • Support: if you contact us, we keep your email and message to respond.
  • Usage: standard server logs and, where enabled, privacy-respecting analytics.

3. Information processed by the Plugin (on your site)

When you install the Plugin on your own WordPress site, it records marketing-attribution data about visitors to your site, which is stored in your database. This may include:
  • UTM parameters, click identifiers (gclid, fbclid, msclkid, ttclid, li_fat_id, gbraid, wbraid), referrer, and landing page;
  • a classified marketing channel, first- and last-touch data;
  • IP address (which can be anonymized) and approximate geolocation derived from it via ipinfo.io;
  • organic search keyword enrichment via Google Search Console, where you enable it.
For data your site collects through the Plugin, you are the data controller and Palms Media LLC acts as a processor. See our Data Processing Agreement.

4. How we use information

To provide and maintain the Plugin and Site, process subscriptions, provide support, send service messages (such as your license key), prevent abuse, and comply with law.

5. Third parties

  • Stripe — subscription billing and license issuance.
  • ipinfo.io — optional IP geolocation enrichment.
  • Google Search Console — optional organic keyword enrichment.
  • GitHub — software delivery and updates.

6. Cookies

The Plugin sets first-party and server-side cookies to preserve attribution across visits (including a Safari ITP-resistant endpoint). It integrates with consent managers (Cookiebot, OneTrust, Google Consent Mode) so tracking only fires after consent where required.

7. Data retention

Subscription records are kept as required for accounting and legal purposes. Attribution data stored by the Plugin is controlled by you and can be auto-pruned via the Plugin's retention setting.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these for data we control, email [email protected].

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Children

The Site and Plugin are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; we will post the new effective date here.
